White Ribbon Day

One of the issues I brought up at the recent Candidates Forum was my concerns over the escalation of Domestic Violence in Australia.  It is reported that a third of Australian women (over age of 15) have experienced domestic violence and half a million women in Australia have reported domestic and sexual violence in the last 12 months.

25th November is White Ribbon Day and Fremantle Council Community Services are hosting a breakfast in Kings Square to highlight the scourge of domestic violence and to get people to sign a pledge.  Of course we hope as many men as possible will come along, but women will also be welcome.  Please come along for Breakfast between 8:00am and 9:00am and if you can RSVP to me at jonst@fremantle.wa.gov.au or Lauren at laurenmi@fremantle.wa.gov.au  to allow us to get the catering numbers right.
