A Very Freo Sunday

Having just got back from Melbourne I went out on Sunday with a bit of a tourists head on and boy what a great place Freo is for a tourist.

I had Little Creatures pale ale and wood fired pizza while listening to the sublime music of Loren Kate at the Fremantle Arts Centre.  The front lawn was packed and the good weather held out.  Any tourist stumbling on the event would be well pleased.

I then wandered down to J Shed to see the opening of Beau-Est-Mien.  It is so good to see the end studio being used after so many years as a dumping ground.  The print work being produced is of exceptional quality and it’s great to see they are running classes for children.  This is such a great venue.

From J Shed I headed to Kulcha to see the effervescent Megalight Multiculture.  Not only did they have the venue rocking the street below was also moving to the groove.  It’s such a great venue and balcony with the best music.

Oh well, Monday morning and time to take my tourist head off and put on my work one on.  But I will still remember how great Fremantle is when you look with new eyes.
