St Nicks Centre

I had a call from my 90+-year-old mum today.  She reported she had had a great time yesterday visiting St. Nicholas’s Field Environmental Centre and Nature Reserve in York, UK.  She enthused about the gardens, including Jean’s Square Foot Garden and the Environmental Centre.  They had a walk around the centre and lunch made from the centre grown products.  She was tickled by the sign in the toilet, which read ‘Only use this toilet if you really have to!’

She remembers the area as a very run down former landfill site, 10 years later it has transformed into a great community asset.  She was also happy I could check out the place on the Internet, I recommend you follow the link and see what they are doing, think South Fremantle Land Fill Site.
