The 25th Oz Concert, again held in Government House Gardens, was a spectacular success. From Richard Walley’s welcome and performance with the Middar Dancer group to the stunning finale played by the Oz Concert Harmony Band we were kept on the edge of our seats with the highest quality multicultural performances in songs and dance. There was Indonesian, Croatian, Middle Eastern and Bollywood dancers. Songs from Ulla Shay, Tania Walker, Jon Cope and Tara Tiba, whose powerful enchanting voice will stay with me forever. A member of the public told me it was the best Lion Dance he had ever seen, and Agnes Tan said the concert was exactly what they had imagined when they started the Oz Concert 25 years ago. Congratulations to the Staff at Kulcha for a wonderful event. Thanks to our Governor General, Malcolm McCusker and his wife Tonya for again allowing us to use their garden to hold the event in, and sponsors Lotterywest, Citic Pacific Mining and the City of Perth who made it all possible.
