High Street Upgrade Workshop

There was a strong turnout for the High Street upgrade workshop held by Fremantle Council in the Reception Room today.  Cr Coggin took the brave step of acting as convener in the Mayor’s absence.  Director of Physical Services, Peter Pikor also attended to assist with any technical questions.  There were a variety of views and questions, from ‘please get on with it’ to ‘we do not want it’.   One thing the room agreed on was the disappointment that Main Roads had not organised a community information/consultation session as promised.  Simone McGurk advised the meeting that funding for the upgrade is no longer in the State Budget, so it looks like dragging on for a long time yet.
