In the Town Hall tonight there was intrigue, crossing and double-crossing. No, not the Strategic Sites workshop in the Reception Room, but The Marriage of Figaro in the Town Hall presented by Co-Opera.
Co-Opera’s by line is Opera On The Move, everything they use is delivered by a 5 tonne van, which results in ingenious stage settings, including clear plastic and perspex to demonstrate the transparency of 18th Century upper class morals. However the real heart of Opera is the music and the costumes, and both were top-notch. Congratulations to all the performers, the instrumentalists, technicians, Director Tessa Bremner and Music Director Brian Chatterton for a brilliant show.
If you wish to see Co-Opera’s production of The Marriage of Figaro you need to get tickets from a travel agent as their next performance is in Germany.
Thanks Co-Opera for a great evenings entertainment.
