Eastern Rhythems 2 at Kulcha

South Indian Dance and Percussion

At Kulcha on Saturday 1st October
The dance of South India, known for its rhythmic virtuosity with complex foot work and hand gestures, is one of the great dance forms of the world. The expressive motifs of the dance unfold to the sinuous melodic riffs of the sitar before exploding in to a rhythmic intensity of tabla and the amazing Indian vocal percussion, nattuvangam. Premala Sangaranda presents Footsteps, an exciting new dance work based around the renowned percussionist Josh Hogan, who is a master of the Indian vocal percussion style and tabla player, Gurpreet Singh. Balvinder Singh, known for his work with Masonik and the Raga In The City series, performs on sitar. This is a truly exclusive-to-KULCHA event.
